Machined for
flight. defense. precision. generations.
Sunset Industries is a contract manufacturer for your precision CNC machining needs. Your components run efficiently through our 2- to 6-axis lathes, multi-axis mill-turn centers and 3- to 5-axis mills, with grinding, broaching, EDM, managed special processes and assembly — built to your specifications under an AS9100D quality system. Most of what we make flies, and the same discipline goes into every part, whether it ends up in an aircraft fuel system or a piece of industrial equipment. Family-owned and operated since 1959.
Built to hold tolerance.
Run to hold schedule.
We specialize in simple to complex turned and prismatic parts in aluminum, stainless, alloy steels and heat-resistant and exotic alloys — planned to run efficiently and under control, processed through a proven special-process network, and delivered with the certification and inspection package your purchase order calls for. If your part fits within an 8-inch cube, we can evaluate it for manufacturing. We are a medium-mix, low-to-medium-volume shop: typical lot sizes run from 10 to 2,000 pieces.
Engineering & Manufacturability
We build to your print, and we read it like engineers: tolerances, datum schemes, material and finish callouts are reviewed before we quote. If you control the design and want manufacturability feedback, we will tell you where a small change would lower cost or risk without touching function.

3-, 4- & 5-Axis Milling
Vertical machining centers with 3-, 4- and 5-axis capability, high-speed spindles to 24,000 RPM, high-pressure through-spindle coolant and in-machine probing for housings, manifolds, plates and cast or forged parts that need multiple faces held to one datum.

Stainless and precipitation-hardening steels
The largest share of our stainless work is in the martensitic and PH grades used for fuel-system and hydraulic hardware — hardened, passivated and often chrome- or dry-film-coated after machining.

- Nitronic 50 (AMS 5764)
Nickel- and cobalt-base superalloys
Engine-section and hot-gas-path components in heat-resistant alloys — slow, rigid cuts with the tooling and work-holding the materials demand, and 100% penetrant inspection where the print calls for it.

From print to conforming part.
A disciplined, AS9100-governed flow takes your drawing from quote to shipment — with a documented gate at every step.
Quote
Contract review of the print, specs and flow-downs; material and process sourcing; a firm quote with the risks called out.
Plan
Routing, certified material procurement, Mastercam programming and fixture design — first-article plan set before cutting.
Machine
Multi-axis turning and milling, with feature dimensions checked at the machine as the job runs.
Process
Customer-approved or Sunset-selected special processors, with certifications collected and reviewed before the next operation.
Inspect
Final inspection under our certified-supplier delegation; AS9102 FAIR and full data package where required.
Deliver
Certificate of Conformance, material and process certs, and traceability back to the mill heat — on dock, on the date promised.
Big-shop discipline.
Small-shop attention.
Customers keep us on their approved lists for decades for reasons that don't show up on a capabilities matrix.
Certified-supplier trust
Customers have delegated final inspection to us — our C of C ships parts straight to their stock. That status is audited and re-earned on every lot, and it shows in a 99.8% quality rating on a major account in 2025.
Difficult work, done in-house
Hard alloys, thin walls, back-side features and matched sets are the norm here, not the exception. Multitasking machines and in-machine probing keep the part in one setup and the tolerance stack short.
One accountable supplier
Material, machining, special processes, assembly and the certification package under one purchase order — coordinated by us, documented to AS9100, and traceable to the heat number.
Direct access
Call and you reach the people who quote, program and inspect your parts. Decisions on a schedule change or a print question happen the same day, not next quarter.
Here for the long run
Sunset is family-owned with the third generation already in the business and a succession plan to keep it in the family for decades to come. We sign long-term agreements because we intend to be here to honor them.
Compliance built in
ITAR-registered with a documented export-control program, a 100% U.S.-person workforce, and CMMC Level 2 readiness in progress — so controlled programs can be placed here without a workaround.
